Would you have sex with Paul Rudd?

In the video above, Billy Eichner runs around the streets of New York with Paul Rudd asking random strangers if they would have sex with Paul for a dollar.

Well, I’d do it for free! :-) Even if he just turned 45 last April 6, he still looks mighty fine. I’ve had a crush on Paul Rudd ever since I saw him in the 1995 film Clueless where he played Josh, the cute, dorky stepbrother of Cher, Alicia Silverstone’s character.

How about you? Would you have sex with Paul Rudd?

Wentworth Miller on suicide and coming out

You should know by now that Wentworth Miller, who played the leading character Michael Scofield in the popular TV series Prison Break, came out of the closet late last month. In a simple letter posted on the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation website, Miller declined an invitation to attend an international film festival in St. Petersburg, Russia as a form of protest against the anti-homosexual laws in that country. “It would make me happy to say yes, however, as a gay man, I must decline,” wrote Miller.

Having enjoyed watching the 1st season of Prison Break, I developed a small crush on Wentworth Miller as well as on his co-actor Dominic Purcell, who played Scofield’s half-brother Lincoln Burrows. At the height of his popularity, Miller was actually hounded by gay rumors and he emphatically said back in 2007, “I’m not gay.”

Now Miller, through an inspiring speech given at a recent dinner organized by the Human Rights Campaign, spoke about his struggles in coming to terms with his homosexuality. He revealed that he first tried to commit suicide at 15 by downing a bottle of pills while his family was away for the weekend. He survived and was asked if that was a cry for help. He said no because, “You only cry for help if you believe there’s help to cry for. And I didn't. I wanted out.” And on his decision to finally come out, Miller said, “let me be to someone else, what no one was to me.”

You can watch his full speech below. (Note: the audio is quite soft, so you should use earphones.)

Steve Grand – All American Boy

For your mid-week hump day delight, here’s a hot music video from Steve Grand, “All-American Boy”. If you’ve ever had unrequited feelings for a straight man, especially a strapping all-American dude, then this song and video is for you. The video, which was released early July, has reached nearly 1.8 million hits on YouTube and features Steve pining for his all-American guy friend. While the guy friend is pretty hot, Steve is very gorgeous as well, with his puppy-dog eyes contrasting with his muscular physique that he shows off at around 3 minutes into the video.

While he is not the first openly gay country music singer in a genre that is quite conservative, Steve Grand has certainly made a big splash despite being unsigned to any major record label since this song is his debut single and is unabashedly a gay song at that. The song’s title is even a nice counterpoint to the numerous all-American girl country songs such as “American Girl”, which was the blind audition song of the second runner-up Swon Brothers in The Voice USA Season 4, as well as “All-American Girl” which was sung in the finale of the same show by Danielle Bradbery, the eventual winner. (If you’re curious, I was rooting for Michelle Chamuel.)

XXX Olympiad

Unless you’re living under a rock, you should be aware by now that the Games of the XXX Olympiad is happening right now in London. Setting aside some of the notable highlights like Mr. Bean playing a part of the famous “Chariots of Fire” soundtrack, or the badminton scandal that led to the expulsion of 8 women athletes from the Games, or the fact that the Philippines has yet to end its 16-year medal drought, the most interesting story about the Games that I have read by far is this piece on ESPN about the raucous sex that happens at the Olympic Village.

Well, what do you expect when you put together a bunch of young very healthy and fit athletes full of energy far from home into a single location? Well, lot’s of physical exercise on the bed (and even off it). You could lose in the court but win some in the bedroom. Here are some highlights from the article:

Quickly the reality sinks in that the village is “just a magical, fairy-tale place, like Alice in Wonderland, where everything is possible,” says Carrie Sheinberg, an alpine skier at the ’94 Winter Games and a reporter for subsequent Olympics. “You could win a gold medal and you can sleep with a really hot guy.”

By the eve of the closing ceremonies, all of the events have wrapped, all bets are off and the home team often hosts one hell of a party. That was certainly the case in Sydney, where Australia’s baseball and women’s soccer teams threw a joint bash complete with a massive bonfire. “Who knew the village furniture could burn so well,” kids Alicia Ferguson, an Aussie footballer. “We did involve the fire wardens, who were very accommodating, and then we started hooking up around our very own Olympic Village bonfire.”

And is there same-sex action? ESPN hints at some:

At the 1976 Montreal Games, three-time Olympic diver and four-time gold medalist Greg Louganis [ed: he came out of the closet in 1995 during an interview with Oprah], appearing in his first Olympics at age 16, developed a kinship with the boys on the Soviet Union diving team and soon found himself partying in their rooms. “Once events were over, our entire diet was caviar, vodka and Russian champagne. It was crazy,” Louganis says. He was particularly struck by the Russians’ sense of sexual liberation. “Culturally, they’re more openly affectionate toward each other, which I just drank up, since I was still discovering who I was. But I had my eyes on one Soviet. I’d curl up in his lap; we’d hug and cuddle. I felt so protected.” It didn’t progress beyond that, Louganis says. “He was hooking up with one of the other male divers on the team” — not to mention married.

What about during the 2012 London Olympics? Well, the servers of the hugely popular gay hookup app Grindr crashed at about the same time athletes were arriving. This led to tabloid speculation that gay Olympic athletes overloaded the service although Grindr says that it was all just a coincidence:

“While we’d love to believe that the best-built men in the world all dressed up in Lycra and congregating in one place can generate a huge increase in Grindr traffic, we can say with confidence that the arrival of the Olympic teams had little or no effect on our server. The truth is that there are many factors that cause a technological service disruption.”

Finally here’s some athletic eye candy, er, sausage....

The hunk above is Swedish decathlete Björn Barrefors. Unfortunately he’s not in the London Olympics. But, see more brief-dropping pictures of him. :-)

Oh my! The two hunkiest Avengers (with their bulging biceps) in one drool-worthy picture!

Now the only thing that should be missing in the photo are their shirts. :-)

“Seriously?! It’s like you’re Photoshopped!”

I just watched Crazy, Stupid, Love, starring Steve Carell and Julianne Moore, last night and it was one of the best movies I’ve seen this year. I highly encourage you to go and see it. It’s a surprisingly intelligent movie for a romantic comedy and the story, acting, and dialogues were a notch over its peers.

But since this is a gay blog, there’s one icing to this cake of a movie: Ryan Gosling. Just go watch the last part of the film’s trailer below to see just one of many reasons to march to the cinema and ogle at this fine actor. :-)

Intermission: Tristan Jaxx and Tory Mason

I hope everyone is safe in the wake of Typhoon Juan. In the meantime, here’s something hot to sizzle up your cold rainy day: a sexy and nicely edited video of Tristan Jaxx and Tory Mason French kissing. Tristan is the stocky dark-haired guy while Tory is the lean blonde. Enjoy!

I just love watching guys kiss passionately, especially if they're quite manly. Hehehe. :-)

Glee hunk: Cheyenne Jackson

If we’re going to go by stereotypes, I’m guessing that most PLUs are Gleeks, that is, fans of the award-winning musical comedy Glee, which is about an underdog glee club named New Directions at McKinley High School in Ohio. It’s campy, theatrical, and ostentatious, all of which are right up the alley of gays everywhere. However, I’m also guessing that only a minority of these PLU Gleeks realize that the actor that plays the new coach of the glee club’s main rival, Vocal Adrenaline, is a beefcake. Guys, meet the hunkalicious Cheyenne Jackson! And... he’s out and gay! :-)

35-year-old Cheyenne plays Vocal Adrenaline coach Dustin Goolsby, which the show’s creators have described as a complete villain. So far he has only been seen in a single scene in the premiere episode of the second season, pirating Charice Pempengco’s character, Sunshine Corazon, from McKinley High. But despite the short screen time, he had a commanding presence, don’t you think? There is actually a couple of trivia about Cheyenne Jackson and Glee. One is that he was originally one of the actors considered for the role of Will Schuester, New Directions’ coach, which ultimately went to Matthew Morrison (who I think is better suited for it). Another is that he was supposed to appear back in season 1 as Dakota Stanley, the crazy choreographer of Vocal Adrenaline. He fell ill when he was about to shoot his scenes and so the show rewrote the Dakota character to be a puffed-up, condescending, and short gay guy. I guess the show really wanted Cheyenne and now has a recurring role in the second season.

Just like a lot of the regular and guest actors in Glee, namely Matthew Morrison (Will Schuester), Lea Michele (Rachel Berry), Jenna Ushkowitz (Tina Cohen-Chang), Kristin Chenoweth (April Rhodes), Idina Menzel (Shelby Corcoran), and Jonathan Groff (Jesse St. James), Cheyenne Jackson also has a theatrical background, having performed in Broadway and off-Broadway productions like Xanadu, All Shook Up, Damn Yankees and Altar Boyz. And just like Chris Colfer (Kurt Hummel), Jane Lynch (Sue Sylvester) and Jesse St. James, Cheyenne is out and gay. And really hot to boot!

If my ultimate crush in season 1 is hunk Mark Salling, who plays bad boy Noah “Puck” Puckerman, I think Cheyenne will take the crown in season 2. :-) And if you’re curious, no, he’s not single: he’s in a long-term relationship with a physicist (whoa!).

More pictures of this hunk here and there. There’s also an After Elton article/gallery for his 35th birthday.

“No Quiero Enamorarme”

By now you should all have seen Kylie Minogue’s recent music video for her single “All The Lovers.” I became acquainted with it through McVie’s blog post. I really love the song and the video is extremely pleasing to the eyes. And if my memory serves me right, this is the first music video by a popular international artist that depicts two men kissing. Of course I’m not complaining, but that kiss and the generally sensual imagery of the whole video would likely ruffle the feathers of a lot of conservative people in the country. I wonder if this video gets airtime on the local music channels without censorship.

As nice as Kylie’s video is, still nothing beats the extremely hot soft-core porn that is Daniel Zueras’ music video for “No Quiero Enamorarme,” which means “I Don’t Want to Fall in Love.” Go watch it on YouTube if you haven’t seen it yet! The video depicts Daniel in a bisexual threesome with a woman and another man. I guarantee that you will find the video sexy and the song has a pretty decent dance-pop tune, though I don’t understand the lyrics. :-)

Daniel Zueras is a Spanish pop singer who finished second place in Operación Triunfo, a reality-TV singing contest in Spain. “No Quiero Enamorarme” is his first commercial single, released in 2007, and he did the really controversial music video in order to quickly shed the innocent-boy image he acquired from the singing contest. It’s definitely the sexiest music video I’ve ever seen and it surely won’t get airtime here in Philippine television on the off chance that Daniel’s music becomes popular here.

By the way, I think it was AJ who first blogged about this music video here in the Philippines back in 2007. I’m just re-blogging it again now for the benefit of those people who haven’t seen it yet. It deserves to be watched over and over again. Hehehe. I’d really love to know if there is an even sexier gay-themed music video out there (please do leave a comment if you know of one).

Anyway, if you want a poignantly beautiful (not sexy) gay music video, then the one for Sigur Rós’ “Viðrar vel til loftárása” is probably the best there is. (Jónsi, the band’s vocalist and guitarist, is openly gay.)

The hot older men of Here Comes The Bride

I finally saw Here Comes The Bride last weekend and it was really, really funny. I also haven’t seen a movie audience react as much for quite a while. (The two most reactive scenes were when Sweet Lapus’ character was making passionate love to the maid of honor and when Tom Rodriguez and Eugene Domingo were trying to kiss.) I haven’t seen Kimi Dora yet so I can’t compare, but I definitely left the theater with a smile on my face. :-)

There was definitely some nice eye candy in the film, like the lean and hot body of PBB’s Tom Rodriguez (aka Tom Mott). (I’ve had a minor crush on him ever since he first appeared on Pinoy Big Brother.) The groomsmen were also pretty hot as well and not to mention the male nurses near the film’s end. But what really captured my attention were two of the older actors: Neil Ryan Sese and Bart Guingona. Both are accomplished theater actors, by the way.

I’ve said before that I have this thing for men with shaved heads or a semikal haircut and Bart Guingona (portraying the uncle of Tom’s character) definitely fits my bill. Especially when he was shown wearing tight-fitting shirts that highlighted his big arms.

I’ve had a crush on Neil Ryan Sese (who portrayed the dad of the spoiled ring-bearer) ever since I’ve seen him perform on stage back in college. I very much prefer him sporting a circle beard, but he’s still quite handsome even when clean-shaven.

So, am I the only one who noticed these two mature men in the movie? I’d love to know if there are other people who look and then look past the bevy of young men and also appreciate the sexy older guys. :-)

Hunky men in Glee’s “Physical” music video

Let’s leave the election coverage for a while and ogle at hunky men first. I’m sure many of my readers are gleeks and I was wondering how many of you have seen the really delicious recreation of Olivia Newton-John’s “Physical” music video in last week’s episode “Bad Reputation”? I thought I’d only have to settle for Mark Salling’s (Puck) shirtless scenes for my ogle-quota in Glee, and so it was a real delight seeing lots of shirtless muscular men with ripped abs in the recreated music video. :-) Go check it out!

I had not seen the original 1981 music video before the episode and I got curious how much of it was recreated, so I watched the original on YouTube. Unlike Madonna’s recreated “Vogue” music video two episodes back, which was an almost perfect frame-by-frame adaptation of the original, the Glee-fied “Physical” clip only copied the setting and general theme of physical fitness (plus some early scenes). Well, I like this new version better since they ditched the obese men found in the old video and gave us lots of hunks! Hehehe. Unfortunately, they also ditched the homosexual ending in the 1981 video. Too bad.

The kiss between Man U’s Scholes and Neville

For your “that’s so gay!” news of the moment, two Manchester United footballers share a long kiss after narrowly avoiding a draw to win a key game. Thirty-five-year-old football veteran Paul Scholes scored a goal with 17 seconds to spare winning the decisive game for his team. Team captain Gary Neville was so elated at winning that he planted a full-blown lips-to-lips kiss on Scholes on the field.

This kiss became a sensation in the UK especially in the ultra-macho world of English football. You can read a short account of the win over at Daily Mail, or read an interesting commentary on the kiss (touching on homophobia) from The Guardian, or simply admire large photos of the kiss at The Huffington Post. For more viewing pleasure, The Spoiler has assembled a very nice gallery of other English footballers sharing saliva.

Me? I'm just enjoying ogling at the pictures. (And hoping that this leads to less homophobia in the UK. Or at least more guys kissing.) :-)

Ej Montuano is hawt!

I couple of people I know were invited to participate in Rachel Lobangco’s intriguing photography series called Drench. The concept of the series is to depict various people and their professions while getting wet under a shower of water. I think getting wet is kinda sexy so I browsed those albums that were already online on Facebook such as the ones for Chef Roland Laudico, model Mark Manicad and DJ Tony Pavia. It was while browsing the photos as well as some behind-the-scene pictures that I came across this yummy model named Ej Montuano.

Ej is the male model tapped for the concept shoot of Drench and he has his own solo Drench album. Aside from that, he also sometimes takes the role of “drencher” for the other people, using a water can to shower subjects with water.

Well, Ej is quite ripped and I have this thing for semikal hunks so it’s no surprise that I ended up enjoying looking at his his photos on his Facebook profile. Hehehe. He has this raw manly appeal with his defined abs and a really square jaw. I hope these pictures of him brightened up your weekend! :-)

Reactions to Ricky Martin’s coming out

To very few people’s surprise, Puerto Rican singer Ricky Martin announced that he is gay. What I found interesting regarding this news is the extremely varied reactions people have upon his coming out.

Most people. “Duh!” “In other news, CNN declares that the sky is blue." "His closet must’ve had glass doors.” “The only news is the fact that this is news.”

Naive people. “OMG! I can’t believe Ricky Martin is gay!”

Cynics. “He just wants the attention to boost his faltering career.” “This is a publicity stunt. Nothing more.”

Positive LGBT rights activists. “His coming out is a big deal since it will serve as an inspiration for countless LGBT people and a means to help end discrimination and hate in the U.S. and especially Latin America, where homophobia still reigns supreme.”

Grammar Nazis. “Ricky, it’s ‘were’ not ‘where’!”

Clueless. “Why is this a big deal? All of these coming out stories are so overrated. It doesn’t matter what people do behind their bedroom door.”

Loyal fans. “We’re so proud of you, Ricky!”

Negative LGBT rights activists. “He should have come out at the peak of his career when he could have made a bigger impact to the gay community, not now when he has nothing else to lose.”

Extremist Bible thumpers. “God hates fags and God hates Ricky Martin. He will burn in hell.”

Local showbizmongers. “Piolo, you’re next!”

So, what do you think? While I wasn’t surprised (c’mon, those pictures of him at the beach in Speedos with an equally hunky guy and his having twins via a surrogate pregnancy are damning evidence), I think that this will have a huge positive impact on the acceptance of LGBT people worldwide. It’s just too bad that coming out has to be an issue at all. I can’t wait for the day when one’s sexuality is no longer something newsworthy.

The C’est so Paris gay rugby ad

Speaking of rugby, I’d like to share this 2007 ad campaign (example layout above) commissioned by the tourist agency of Paris that aimed to attract British people to go to France, which hosted the 2007 Rugby World Cup. The idea was to show that aside from Paris being the City of Love, Parisians also have a sense of humor. :-) You can do a Google image search for "paris gay rugby ad" to look for a larger version.

Humorous or not, I totally dig this advertisement! Aside from the obvious “French” kisses, there’s plenty of things going on with the other players, like all the groping at crotches and butts. Hehehehe. Too bad that ads like this are unlikely to be made for the Philippine market anytime soon.

Photoshopped self-kissing: hot or gross?

Here’s an interesting find on the Internet. This French artist created 26 amazing pieces depicting people passionately kissing themselves. The level of Photoshopping quality is amazing and I find myself mesmerized looking at the set. However, I can’t decide if the pictures are a homoerotic turn-on, just plain narcissistic, or grossly incestuous (as if twins were kissing each other). What do you think? I personally consider the two photos above hot. :-P

A couple of tech world hotties

I keep up somewhat with the consumer electronics and tech industry (like many guys who are into computers and gadgets) and I came across this recent list of the 100 most influential people in the tech world. This list was compiled by the T3 website/magazine in the UK. They admit that the list is slanted towards the United Kingdom and consumer electronics, but the list contains a wide representation of people. It was no surprise that Google founders Sergey Brin and Larry Page occupied the top spot and the top positions were dominated by the founders or CEOs of Google, Microsoft, Apple, Twitter, Facebook, LG, Sony, Intel and Samsung. A mild surprise was U.S. President Barack Obama at #18, but I guess it’s because of his heavy use of the Web and the Internet during his campaign and in his administration. Musician Trent Reznor even made the list at #59!

The list diplays photos of these people so being the PLU guy that I am, I scoped out who was cute or hot. Below are the two hottest guys on the list in my opinion. The guy to the left is Mashable blog founder Pete Cashmore at #71 and the other one is Apple Senior VP of Industrial Design Jonathan Ive at #52.

Pete Cashmore looks more like a GQ model than a tech blogger. He has this really nice unshaven look on his strong square jaw as you can see from pictures of him on the web. This Scotsman just turned 24 last Friday. Jonathan Ive, on the other hand, is this nice big, hunky, buzz cut dude that gave us the iconic designs of the Mac, iPod, and iPhone. See more pictures of him online. Hmmm... they actually look similar to each other. Hehehe. :-)

Among the Asians in the list, I think ASUS designer Aken Ko at #87 is the hottest, while the following seem to be handsome as well: #91 Josh Silverman of Skype and #57 Kevin Rose of Digg.

Agree, disagree?

Interesting McDo store murals

I recently stumbled onto this portfolio photoblog of commercial photographer Jake Verzosa. I also learned then that he was the photographer behind those uber-sexy Bench Blackout ads. Well, I browsed his blog’s recent posts and came across his photos that now grace the walls of McDo stores.

Being a sucker for cute semikal guys, I immediately focused my attention on two such male models on the pictures (among the other good-looking models) and recognized them. One is model Mark Onir and the other is Fil-Am R&B singer DannieBoi (more pictures). Aren’t they cute? :-)

This reminds me that I have yet to know who is the much cuter semikal guy I saw in McDo’s previous store murals. This mural I’m talking about shows three joggers: one is the semikal dude, the other is a good-looking mestizo guy and the last one is a girl. Has anyone seen than mural and possibly know who the guy is? He’s really yummy. Hehehe.

Anyway, if you’re a Bed regular, go back to Jake’s album and try to see if you can spot the male model there that’s often seen in Bed. :-)

DJ Big Kid is pretty hawt!

I was checking out Bed’s website this week and I saw this poster for an event last Saturday (July 18), featuring DJ Big Kid of Singapore. The poster showed a hunky gym-buffed Asian guy and I was quite intrigued and checked him out. He has a Facebook profile and the pictures of him are quite drool-worthy. He may not be as good-looking or his body as defined as some other guys but he definitely passes my standards. :-)

Too bad I wasn’t able to go to Bed last Saturday so that I could go come and see him up close, but fortunately, DJ Big Kid has posted an album containing pictures of his gig in Bed at his Facebook account. (I’m a bit surprised to see that his main web page is on Facebook, instead of the usual MySpace for music artists—there are a couple of unrelated DJ Big Kids on MySpace.)

Now, I’m not so sure if he’s gay or not but he definitely supports the gay community, playing in various gay circuit parties in Singapore and elsewhere and participating in various gay initiatives in Singapore. According to this Fridae interview (Fridae is the most popular gay website in Singapore), DJ Big Kid, whose real name is Johnson Ong, graduated from law school (wow!), worked in the PR industry, and is now a DJ. Fridae’s last question was, “Who would your dream date be if you were straight for a day?” implying that DJ Big Kid is gay. Then again, Fridae always asks that question of their interviewees, even the straight ones, if I remember correctly. Nevertheless, I still think he’s pretty hot, don’t you agree?

If you want to see more of him, check out this interview of him on YouTube, that is, if you can stand the heavy Singaporean accent. :-) More photos of him are shown below: the top two are a couple of his Facebook profile pics, while the bottom two are from his Bed gig. (He apparently likes to DJ topless.)
